Ubisoft has revealed to Game Vortex some of the titles currently in development for the new Nintendo DS. In addition, Ubisoft has also signed an exclusive deal with Hudson Soft Co., Ltd, a leading developer of game and entertainment software, to publish and distribute Bomberman DS for the DS in North America. The latest installments of the well-known action/puzzle series Bomberman will be released for DS in Summer 2005.

Bomberman DS will take advantage of the unique features of Nintendo?s new handheld console. The intense battle action will take place on both screens of the console for a wider view of the game, with players able to access and use the menu via the Touch Screen function. Leading battles by voice input will be easy with the Nintendo DS voice recognition system and microphone: just ?shout? and win your battle! Gamers can also choose between the standard single-player mode and battle mode where up to eight people compete against each other via the wireless LAN feature.

Ubisoft also has some others games in the works for the Nintendo DS. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith is scheduled to come out in Spring 2005. Also, a version of King Kong, based on Universal Pictures? December 14, 2005 release, ?King Kong,? from three-time Academy Award winner Peter Jackson (?The Lord of the Rings? trilogy), is currently in development for release during the 2005 holiday season. In addition, Ubisoft officials say that its highly-anticipated stealth sequel Tom Clancy?s Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory will also come out on the handheld platform later in 2005.

Other games based on internal franchises will enrich the company?s line-up in the future. These titles join those announced earlier as official Nintendo DS launch titles: Rayman DS, Sprung, and Asphalt: Urban GT. Sprung and Asphalt: Urban GT, which has already sold more than 180,000 units, are currently available in the U.S. and Canada, and Rayman DS will hit North American shelves in March. All three will be in stores for the machine?s European launch. ?Our full support of the Nintendo DS is clearly visible by the number of titles coming out with the launch,? said Yves Guillemot, Chairman and CEO of Ubisoft. ?We are proud to offer one of the most diverse line-ups of any major editor. Racing, platform, stealth, or action -- there is truly something for all tastes.?
