Call of Duty: Black Ops Oscar Mike to Nintendo DS
Company: Activision
Product: Call of Duty: Black Ops
It's fast becoming a tradition: every November, Activision reignites the first-person shooter space with an all-new entry in its juggernaut flagship military action franchise. Since the Call of Duty franchise is no stranger to expansion, it should come to nobody's surprise that the mega-publisher recently announced that n-Space will be handling the handheld companion to Call of Duty: Black Ops.

n-Space studio head Dan O'Leary voiced his enthusiasm about the team's newest project: "Call of Duty: Black Ops for the Nintendo DS is going to take the handheld Call of Duty experience to a new level...From taking the controls of an attack helicopter to flying an experimental stealth fighter jet, players will have a wealth of new features to utilize."

Call of Duty: Black Ops for Nintendo DS will include a six-player multiplayer component (like last year's Modern Warfare Mobilized). The franchise is known for its perk system, and it will return for the handheld companion game. Details are sparse at the moment, but we expect more to be disclosed as the game approaches its street date.

In addition to the online competitive multiplayer, the game will include two player co-op, Arcade mode, and Challenge mode. The first of those is self-explanatory, but the latter two allow the player to revisit completed missions and unlock achievements.

Call of Duty: Black Ops has already been given the rating of "T" by the ESRB, suggesting that the game is content complete and in the final stages of development. Look for a full review when it launches alongside its next-gen counterparts on November 9th.
