And Your Fourth Spider-Man is...
Company: Activision
Product: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Activision's Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions has been generating a lot of buzz. As you already read in our E3 2010 story, the game looks incredibly fun, but the bigger story surrounding the game has been who which versions of Spider-Man fans will play as during the wall-crawler's dimension-hopping adventure.

For those whose spider-like agility hasn't caught up with the game's premise, Shatter Dimensions centers on the Tablet of Order and Chaos, which shatters, spreading four pieces across four different dimensions. It's up to each area's Spider-Man to reclaim the pieces and restore the tablet.

So far, Activision has revealed three of the four versions. In addition to the classic, red-and-blue "Amazing" variation, the game includes the darker Noir version and the futuristic 2009 version. Since E3 speculation has run rampant, but now the wait is over. The final variation is Ultimate.

The inclusion of Ultimate Spider-Man isn't a big shocker. I was actually sort of expecting his inclusion. Reactions to the Ultimate line have always been mixed in my circle of friends, but the series has always been strong. What's surprising is Ultimate Spider-Man comes in the black symbiote suit. Again, not a big surprise, but it's certainly a combination I wasn't expecting.

Additionally, Activision also announced the final Spider-voice, Neil Patrick Harris. He joins the list of Spider-Man alums returning to the character that includes Christopher Daniel Barnes (Spider-Man: The Animated Series), Dan Gilvezan (Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends) and Josh Keaton (The Spectacular Spider-Man).

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is slated for a September release. Fans who pre-order from GameStop will receive "Cosmic" versions of Spidey's four in-game suits while Amazon is offering the Iron Spider-Man suit.
