Red Dead Redemption Short Film Released
Company: Rockstar Games
Product: Red Dead Redemption
Rockstar Games finally released the 30-minute Hollywood machinima based on Red Dead Redemption, directed by John Hillcoat (who directed The Road with Viggo Mortensen.) I use the term "directed" loosely because the short-film uses all in-game assets and camera angles, so Hillcoat is merely editing the pieces together to form a story.

That story is about John Marston, the reformed outlaw hero of Red Dead Redemption as he seeks aid looking for his former gang partner, Bill Williamson. He meets a tonic-peddling salesman, the Marshall of the city of Armadillo, and a grave-robbing lunatic to help John track down Williamson and his new gang. The entire story Hillcoat tells is lifted from the first act of the game, so if you haven't already finished the first act, there are some light spoilers involved in this video, but nothing major.

Before watching the film, just remember that all of the camera work, voicework, and music are all in-game assets that pop-up in Red Dead already. If this isn't a testament to Rockstar's quality of cinematic narrative, then I don't know what is.

Decide for youselves and take a look here:
