Behind the Scenes Video - Spider-Man: Web of Shadows
Company: Activision
Product: Spider-Man: Web of Shadows
There was a new video on PlayStation.com today, with a behind-the-scenes look at what's going into Activision's Spider-Man: Web of Shadows for the PS3. This video explains some of the details of the fighting system that they've built for Web of Shadows. I say, "was," because just before I posted this story, it was taken down. Perhaps it wasn't intended to be released on a Saturday, but I found the same video on Activision's website, so I've embedded it below, for your viewing pleasure.

Featured speakers include Chris Scholz (Studio Head), Tim O'Neil (Lead Character Programmer), Tom Teuscherm (Lead Combat Character Designer) and Zachary Krefting (Creative Director), all from Shaba Games.

The main focus of the video is that the team at Shaba Games has worked to "marry" the fighting and the web-swinging, so that Spider-Man can pull off fighting moves while swinging, something that Spider-Man fans would expect of the arachnophilic, acrobatic web-head. As Tom Teuscher, Lead Combat Character Designer, puts it, Spider-Man will now be "doing this full circle of ground-wall-air combat that's really never been seen in a game before."

It definitely looks interesting to this Spidey-fan, but don't take my word for it, see the video below for yourself.
