Sesame Street: Old School Volume 3 - 1979-1984 is a delight for both young and old. Season 11, Show 1316 begins on Sesame Street with Maria (Sonia Manzano) planning a trip back to Puerto Rico for her 21st birthday. Unbeknownst to her, the Sesame Street gang is planning an island birthday surprise of their own! It's smiles and tears when Big Bird takes off for summer camp, and Gordon (Roscoe Orman) and Snuffleupagus (Michael Earl Davis/Bryant Young) have a run-in with the NYC Marathon.

Making their debut appearances are Telly Monster (Martin P. Robinson), the Honkers (Brian Muehl, Kathryn Mullen, and Cheryl Blaylock) and Forgetful Jones (Richard Hunt). You'll see classics like Monsterpiece Theater and Beetle Bailey with celebrity appearances including Lily Tomlin as "Edith Ann," Paul Simon, Henry "Fonzie" Winkler, Johnny Cash, Richard Pryor, Madeline Kahn and the ever-popular Jim Henson Muppets including Oscar the Grouch and Big Bird (Caroll Spinney), Snuffleupagus, Kermit the Frog and Cookie Monster (Jim Henson), Bert (Frank Oz) and Ernie (Jim Henson), with Sesame Streeters Olivia (Alaina Reed), Maria, Luis (Emilio Delgado), Gordon, Susan (Loretta Long), David (Northern Calloway), Bob (Bob McGrath) and Linda (Linda Bove).

Sesame Street: Old School Volume 3 - 1979-1984 Special Features are jam-packed with classics that will keep your whole family glued to the television set. They include Sesame's most requested clip, "Goodbye-Mr. Hooper," which tackles the sensitive topic of Mr. Hooper's (Will Lee's) death; Oscar's "How To Be a Grouch;" Sonia Manzano's informative audio commentary on the Puerto Rico episode; Caroll Spinney's interview talking about his roles as Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch; a Sesame Street Bonus Booklet, behind-the-scenes footage, classic episodes and clips.

Sesame Street: Old School Volume 3 - 1979-1984 is fun for every member of the family. Sesame Street has become a household word and a "baby-sitter" for us all. This is an ageless program and educational tool touching on sensitive and difficult areas to keep our children safe and knowledgeable. The only negative I have is that there are no subtitles for the hearing impaired. The film quality might not be as crisp as more current shows, but really, who cares? We're all just so glad to be able to experience one of the most joyous shows of our time.
