There is a lot to get use to when first encountering the Razer
BoomSlang 2000. The range of precision/speed is staggering at first. When set to its highest speed (10), it is very easy for a gamer to completely lose track of where the pointer is located. Furthermore, the usual moving the mouse back-and-forth to find the pointer helps little, as a slight move of the mouse will move the pointer all the way across the screen. At its minimal setting (1), the pointer is much, much more controlled, but moves considerably less than with an average mouse.
Not only does the Razer have this wide range of sensitivity, the setting can be changed on-the-fly. To do this, the gamer merely holds down the ?thumb? button while scrolling the scroll wheel up to increase the speed, or down to decrease the speed. An on screen level indicator will show what sensitivity level the Razor is set to during this adjustment process. Learning to use the Razer BoomSlang 2000 skillfully is a process of finding the speed setting at which you feel most comfortable and gradually increasing this setting as you become accustomed to the freedom.
There are also more advanced features such as the ability to program macros into the button of your choice or re-map button functions, but these may be learned at the gamer?s discretion.
Installation is a simple task. Simply use the accompanying installation CD and follow the instructions. The BoomSlang has a custom configuration program accessible via the system tray. This allows for easy configuration at any time.
