Given the high-profile release of the new
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie, it?s not surprising to find game versions of the film appearing on all of the major systems. Just as unsurprising, the GameBoy Advance version of the game feels like little more than a low-budget tie-in that would only entertain the youngest of audiences. In most cases, this is something of a death sentence, but given the obvious audience for a
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory game, this may suit players just fine.
True to the form of big-budget films, the visuals of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are exceptional. Charlie, Wonka, the children, and the factory make full use of the GBA?s wide palette of colors and multi-layered backgrounds. The sound is likewise inspired by the new movie, is of high-quality, and appropriately fitting for the game.
