Graphics & Sound:
Boy, oh boy, the video gaming market certainly has the ability to jump on something hot and milk it dry (i.e. using the Tiger Woods phenom). For all you Hot Shots Golf fans out there, here is a welcome surprise. CyberTiger introduces a nice cartoony set of characters with the neat option of choosing different ages of Tiger Woods. The courses have a surreal feel to them with a brilliant color pallet, and good looking skyline. The characters move fairly fluidly, but in many parts of the game, the graphics fall apart from a drive to a murmuring putt. What happened with the ball tracking folks? I’ve seen better frames in a museum. As far as sound goes, you will get no complaints from me other than there are not many voice-overs, and can get redundant. The swing and contact effects are nothing out of the ordinary and truly did remind me of Hot Shots. Power-up effects were cool though.

Gameplay:
It’s a golf game folks. Not a necessity to have overly responsive directional control. CyberTiger uses a somewhat familiar sliding power-swing bar with your usual multiple button stops to set your swing. However, CyberTiger is somewhat more simplistic until you get to the greens. The buttons respond quite well, and there is no one to blame for a slice but the man or woman behind the control pad.

Difficulty:
CyberTiger is designed for kids of all ages -- even us really big kids who won’t come out the cyber closet. There is fairly little to no learning curve, and most gamers will be able to jump right in with no problems. O.K., so I have told only a half truth. This game is easy only until you get to the putting. Geehoosafits EA! We went from Hot Shots to PGA Tour Golf Championship Master’s Edition when it came to the greens. Get your physics books out and prepare to triangulate a vector and give the Proof of E=MC2 to hit that three foot putt!

Game Mechanics:
CyberTiger gains an extremely high rating in my book for the most important factor of creating a video game: it is fun. Let me say it again, and hopefully some other programmers will read my review: this game is fun. I can play it all day either alone or with friends. Who cares about graphics and sound and gameplay if the darn whippersnapper ain’t fun to swing the shingdig with. Uuhhh excuse me for that one.
