Capcom's Lineup at Gamescom 2012

Company: Capcom
Product: Capcom's Lineup: Gamescom 2012

Capcom began its biggest ever presence at Gamescom with a press conference that took place earlier today at which it announced Remember Me and showcased new content from its impressive line up of forthcoming titles.

Remember Me

Developed by Paris based DONTNOD Entertainment, Remember Me is a third person action adventure game for PS3 system, Xbox 360, and Windows PC, published by Capcom and scheduled for release in May 2013.

In Remember Me, players assume the role of Nilin, an elite memory hunter who is not only incredibly athletic and trained in martial arts, but also has the special ability to break into people’s minds and steal or even change their memories. When her own memory is erased, Nilin begins her journey to reclaim her identity and discover how she can change the world.

DmC Devil May Cry

DmC Devil May Cry wowed the audience with a live demo of a brand new boss battle in the form of Raptor News Network anchorman Bob Barbas. This powerful demon is responsible for feeding the human world demonic propaganda including portraying Dante as a terrorist and enemy of the state.

Gamescom 2012 marks the debut of a playable build for European consumers and attendees visiting Capcom’s stand (Hall 7.1/B050-A051) will be able to experience two of the game’s missions. In Under Watch, players will need to fight their way through waves of enemies while the world itself is also out for Dante’s blood. In the aptly named Secret Ingredient, players will have to get down and dirty with Succubus, another of DmC’s fiendish bosses.

DmC Devil May Cry will release for PS3 system and Xbox 360 on January 15, 2013 with a Windows PC version coming later in the year.

Lost Planet 3

The temperature may have dropped in the auditorium but the excitement rose with the debut of all new content from this latest installment in the Lost Planet series featuring a previously unseen environment, and home to a giant Akrid enemy. The demo showcased Lost Planet 3’s mix of first person, in-rig action, combined with on foot 3rd person combat that is the key to survival in the game.

Playable for the first time in Europe at the show, visitors will be able to experience this blend of gameplay and the extreme conditions that make Lost Planet 3 one to watch when it releases on Xbox 360, PS3 system and Windows PC in early 2013.

Resident Evil 6

Confirming its commitment to support Resident Evil 6 post launch, Capcom chose the press conference to announce Resident Evil.Net, a free web service that tracks and graphically represents all of the key in-game stats for players from around the world. At a glance see how you rate against your friends and be notified in real-time if they have beaten, for example, your latest Mercenaries score, by linking Resident Evil.Net to your Facebook, Twitter or Capcom-Unity accounts. Furthermore players will be able to join fellow gamers across the globe and compete in specially organized events.

Press conference attendees were also treated to fresh content from series newcomer Jake Muller’s campaign. Gun for hire and son of the infamous Albert Wesker, Jake is on the run from his ceaseless pursuers who need the special blood that runs through his veins to further enhance the deadly C-virus. Holed up in a mountain shack, Jake, alongside Sherry Birkin, must use all his firearms and hand to hand combat skills if they are to defeat the encroaching J’avo. But will that be the end of their problems?

During the course of Gamescom, attendees will be able to experience first-hand what promises to be the dramatic horror experience of 2012, with three missions from the campaigns of Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield and Jake Muller.

Resident Evil 6 will release on October 2 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system with a Windows PC version to follow.

Street Fighter X Tekken for Vita

With a total of 55 playable characters and new exclusive features added just for the PlayStation Vita system version, Street Fighter X Tekken for PS Vita system will deliver the most comprehensive handheld fighter when it releases across Europe on October 19 and North America on October 23. Take advantage of the PS Vita touchscreen and rear touch pad to customize controls and play the way you want; share and collect costumes using Near functionality; take on local challengers via Ad-hoc mode or compete against players around the world with Wi-Fi or via the PS Vita 3G connection and even place your favorite characters in your real world photographs with the game’s AR feature.

Available at the show will be a brand new build of the game, including the opportunity to experience the Cross-Platform Play function that allows owners of the Vita version to play against those who own the original PS3 system version of Street Fighter X Tekken.
