The first three focus on the spooky. In one cartoon, Jerry cracks a mystery of an ancient Egyptian monument and the pair find themselves trying to escape a mummy, while the other two cartoons involve a possibly haunted house.
The second group has Tom and Jerry dealing with aliens and space. First Jerry and Nibbler spoof Star Trek in a space adventure and get attacked by a floating space cat, Tom. Then the pair get abducted and mistaken for chickens as the alien mice try to make a cake for their queen. The last cartoon of that collection has Tom trying to win an amateur astronaut competition so he can earn fame and fortune to win over a girl.
The next episode is a mix between prehistoric-styled adventures and an island adventure. One cartoon has Tom and Jerry discovering a lost island, while the other dino-styled one takes place just after the ice-age with Tom as a saber-toothed cave-cat and Jerry being ... well, Jerry.
Tom and Jerry's adventures then go to a construction site. One cartoon has Spike in charge as the foreman of the job. So he hires Tom to do the work (because all the other workers are in the hospital for splinters). Then Tom and Jerry come into a lot of money and their antics spread to the construction of their new mansions.
The last three cartoons aren't actually themed together it seems. The first one has Jerry getting Tom replaced by a robotic cat that is really efficient. Tom and Jerry have to team up to take the mechanical monster out. Then the pair goes to the gym and have their standard cat and mouse antics amongst dumbbells and exercise bikes. The last cartoon in the set makes Tom a Hollywood star, but one that isn't really happy. So he goes back to the country for the simple life and, of course, Jerry.
Like I said when I started this review, Tom and Jerry Tales feels like the originals, but of course modernized. Kids young and old should find their antics classic and great.
