The Tick vs. Season 2 is the animated big blue hero's second DVD collection, this time with 12 of the 13 episodes from season two. The missing episode, "Alone Together," was not released on the DVD for the same reason "The Tick vs. the Mole-men" didn't appear on the first season's release, copyright and licensing issues.

Unfortunately, the missing episode is one of my favorites. In this show, The Tick is sent to the moon to try and erase the "CHA" that Chairface Chippendale etched into it last season. But his mission is cut short when he encounters Omnipotus, The Devourer of Worlds. This episode was apparently cut out because of this character's likeness to Galactus from the Marvel Comics Universe. Unfortunately, this means that with every episode that follows and shows the moon, viewers are left to wonder why there is a giant bite taken out of it. Oh well, maybe these licensing issues will get worked out some day and they will release a "Lost Episodes" collection or something.

Anyway, back to what this collection does have. There are still several gems in The Tick vs. Season 2. My favorite episode of all time, "The Tick vs. the Big Nothing," is where Arthur and The Tick are abducted by a race known as the Whats, whose vocabulary consists of only one word ("What"). This alien race asks the duo to stop another race, the Heys, who want to destroy the universe. Consequently, the Heys happen to look just like Arthur (if you ever wanted to see The Tick in an Arthur moth suit, this is the episode to watch).

Episodes like "Bloomsday" and "Heroes" also show off this series' flair with classic one-liners like "Follow that allergy!" and "Roofpig! Most unexpected!"

If you are a fan of The Tick (animated or otherwise) and you have been wanting to relive those semi-random adventures, then The Tick vs. Season 2 has just about everything you need. While there aren't any extras and it's missing a really good episode, it is still worth the $34.99 price tag.
