This second volume covers episodes 28 to 54 where DW, Launchpad and Gosalyn will take on F.O.W.L., Nega-Duck, Quackerjack, Bushroot, Liquidator and Mega-Volt (as well as a few minor villains). They will do everything from travel to the Nega-Verse where Saint Canard is in ruins and Nega-Duck rules supreme (an episode title that is my personal favorite, "Life, the Negaverse, and Everything") as well as a couple of trips through time.
This collection is chock full of memorable episodes and running gags (like Darkwing's dislike of crushed ice). Some of these shows include Darkwing and Gosalyn's participation in the Whiffle Boy video game tournament or DW's forbidden relationship with semi-ex-villain Morgana Macabre. And then, of course there are the re-appearances of Duckberg's superhero, Gizmoduck (from Duck Tales, the show that Darkwing Duck is a semi-spin-off of).
An odd thing that I remembered when I first saw this show, but figured it was me seeing them out of order, is that, though Liquidator appears several times in beginning of this volume, his origin story appears about halfway through the box set. I guess this was just an error in their original air-date, but it was really odd to see Liquidator be born immediately after an episode that featured him alongside the rest of the other four re-occurring villains.
But you know what, minor details like that really don't matter, because this classic Disney cartoon, and all of its hand-drawn goodness, just brings back tons of memories and offers hidden lessons (like wearing a helmet) and all-around good fun. Anyone who grew up watching shows like this, Duck Tales or Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers will want to pick up this beauty of a box-set as soon as they can.
