Go Eat Worms starts off with Todd (Noah Shebib) dissecting a worm. He goes as far as to tell his best friend Danny (Andre Ottley-Lorant) that "worms can't feel anything." He has already used the worms, planting them in his sister Regina's (Kristin Fairlie) paper mache robin that she was going to use for her science fair project. Then, we see the worms watching him. The next day, Danny finds worms in his spaghetti at lunch with Todd. He, of course, blames Todd for pulling a prank on him. His mother (Caroline Yeager) tells him that he needs to fix his sister's project and find a new hobby other than worms. That evening, Todd wakes up to find the worms in his bed, covering it from his head to his feet! He blames his sister, but she's over at her friend Beth's (Christiane MacKenzie) house, so it couldn't have been her. Todd still believes it was his sister, though. Pretty soon however, Todd will learn that worms can feel and that maybe he should have respected the worms a bit more!
Tim (Dov Tiefenbach) is addicted to magic. His friend Foz (Robert Hamilton) suggests that he go buy some of Amazo's (Mike Carbone) magic tricks and then he'd be really good. Tim has very limited funds but they go into the magic shop anyway. The magic shop owner gives Tim and Foz two tickets to Amazo's show for that evening. It's a late show though, so Foz says that he can't sneak out. Tim isn't going to let that stop him. Unfortunately his little sister Ginny (Tabitha Lupien) catches him and forces him to take her with him or she'll tell on him. At Amazo's show, Tim is picked to help with it. When he ends up locked in the basement room and missing the show, he decides to steal Amazo's bag on the way out. He and his little sister Ginny investigate the bag and Ginny turns herself into a white rabbit! Ok so really the rabbit turns out to be another magician that is stuck as a rabbit. Tim has to help him steal back his magic wand from Amazo and turn him back into a magician so that he'll help Tim turn Ginny back into a human. Unfortunately, things aren't always as they seem and Tim finds that he has created a mess. Will he be able to fix it all?
In Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes, Joe and his older sister Mindy are playing ball together. Like typical kids, they accidently let the ball go into the neighbor's garden. The neighbor, Major McCall (David Hemblen), doesn't like kids and doesn't like anyone in his prize winning yard. Joe and Mindy's father (Peter Keleghan) just purchased some new garden gnomes and they're really quite creepy looking. Late the next night, Joe hears a noise and looks outside. He sees the gnomes headed over to Major McCall's garden! He follows them to try and stop them, but when all the lights come on to catch the intruder, Joe is the only living creature there. The gnomes have turned back into plastic. Joe's punishment is to fix all of Major McCall's garden destruction. The first day he works all day on it and at midnight he watches for the gnomes again. He tries to wake his parents so they'll believe him, but they don't move. He opts to get his sister, just so someone will be able to verify his story. They go outside in search of the gnomes and that's when the trouble really begins. Just a warning, if you're scared of midgets, you might want to skip this episode! Joe and Mindy are going to have to figure out how to survive.
The Goosebumps series is wonderful family fun. They're safe for kids, maybe a little scary but that's part of the fun, and they're enjoyable for adults as well. I recommend that you go pick up Goosebumps: Go Eat Worms today!
