While Grey's Anatomy: Season Five started out with the staff bored since the hospital didn't have many patients, Grey's Anatomy: The Complete Sixth Season is completely the opposite! Season Five ended with two characters, Izzy (Katherine Heigl) and George (T.R. Knight) both flatlining and the The Sixth Season picks up right there with Izzy surviving and George dying and everyone being more busy than they can handle. Of course, no one wants to tell Izzy what happened since they know how close she and George are and how much it'll hurt her. Since Callie (Sara Ramirez) is George's ex-wife, she has to decide what to do about his organs. They really pack a whole lot into the season premiere as this is just the beginning!

Callie is told that there's just not an attending position open for her to fill. Chief Webber (James Pickens Jr.) is being pushed out of the hospital by the boardand the board wants Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) to take the Chief's job. Of course, Derek tells Webber about it, since he respects him so much. Honestly though, there's nothing that Derek can really do about it at this point. Because of cutbacks and such, Seattle Grace is also merging with their competitors, Mercy West. This means that there are a lot more people than they have jobs to accommodate. Webber is going to have to decide which of those to cut and which to keep as his last decision as Chief. Derek will eventually accept the job, leaving Webber to decide if he'll retire or if he'll stay on as a surgeon.

With all of the Mercy West people and the Seattle Grace people in one place, you can imagine tensions are quite high. Everyone is fighting to prove that they deserve to stay. The groups stay in their cliques. Out of all the new people, the only one that I really care for is Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams). He seems to honestly be a good guy. The rest, well they're more like parasites. That doesn't mean they're not good doctors though. They're really quite talented, which flusters our current guys and causes them to screw up more than they should. I really like the way that Lexie (Chyler Leigh) starts standing up for herself more and more. Of course, I think that Mark (Eric Dane) is a huge part of that as he's there for her. I think they're the cutest couple ever, but their relationship is going to have a lot of problems this season, especially when a surprise comes out from Mark's past.

Derek and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) are enjoying their "newlywed" time, even if they're only married on a post-it note. I do love how the show handles Ellen Pompeo's real-life pregnancy without writing it into the show. Izzy is recovering nicely and back to work for a bit, but her relationship with Alex (Justin Chambers) is very strained. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) isn't dealing well with any of these changes, but she's Bailey. She always survives things and comes out on top. As a bonus, we still get to see Addison (Kate Walsh) again in a cross-over with Private Practice. Callie and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) are an official couple now. While I don't like the fact that they made Callie a lesbian, I do like her and Arizona as a couple. Their relationship isn't always easy and they do have one major problem to see if they can overcome, but I hope they last. Christina (Sandra Oh) is dying without a cardio god to learn from, so Hunt (Kevin McKidd) finds one to bring in for her. Of course, Hunt's choice probably causes more trouble in some ways than she fixes!

The DVD also has a lot of special features, the most interesting of which to me is the over 20 additional minutes of the season finale. The season finale is quite explosive and very important. I really liked having those additional 20 minutes of scenes to add to it. There's also outtakes, unaired scenes, and more.

Six seasons now and Grey's isn't showing any signs of slowing down. It's still the show that I watch every single week as soon as it's on. If you haven't seen it, you're really missing out! You should all go pick up Grey's Anatomy: The Complete Sixth Season today.
