Now, I have been a fan of the way Logitech has designed all of their products for a while now. Their products are sleek, to be sure, but the reason the design works so well is because they practically meet the needs of the product. Headsets are, in essence, two speakers connected by a headband, but the
Logitech G930 provides maximum comfort with maximum efficiency. The soft memory-foam cushion contours to any head shape and the extension bands are lined with measurements so you can know exactly what fits you best.
The speakers are also wrapped in the same memory-foam and snugly fit over your ears. It is nearly a vaccuum that plops on the side of your head, but it feels right, especially when the awesome 7.1 surround sound speakers start playing your favorite song or the deafening sound of gunfire to really draw you into what you are doing. The overall sound quality is terrific. I didn't notice any inconsistencies with what it could output once I installed the software required for the G930. The feature set included with the software also gives you the ability to control the bass, treble, volume, microphone volume, and side tone independently of one another. (Side tone is apparently the reverb from your microphone into your own headset. I didn't know either.) It also supports add-ons and voice morphing for the microphone to keep up the veil of anonymity.
The construction of the Wireless G930 is top quality, which is expected from a headset in this price range. This is a premium product at a premium price, but don't think that money is wasted. The G930 is complete with tons of features including a volume roller on the left speaker, optional surround sound switch, three programmable hot keys, pivot points for the speakers and the microphone, and a small red-LED inside the microphone to let you know when you are broadcasting to your teammates, and its all wireless with a 2.4 GHz receiver with micro-USB charging dock which also wraps the charge cable around the dock for easy use. Every step of the way, I was continually impressed by the Logitech Wireless G930's capabilities.
Arguably, the greatest feature for this model headset is its wireless abilities. With a signal range of up to 40 feet away, I was able to do things I never thought of before. Never again will I have to type "BRB" if I have to get a drink, make a sandwich, answer the door, take out trash, or use the bathroom (admittedly not my experience, but a friend said this was invaluable to him) when I can continue to communicate wirelessly every second. Actually, I found myself most often playing my favorite music and walking into another room, sitting in my favorite chair, and reading a book or taking a nap with the headphones still around my ears. They have already grown to become a part of me and I am glad to say I am not excising my new growth anytime soon.
