Function:The Naki N64 Controller pack is laid out much like the original N64 controller, but is shaped differently. The two handles on either side are shorter. This seems to be an improvement, as it doesn?t dig into your palms as much as the Nintendo design. The handle in the center is a bit longer, but not much. This doesn?t seem to have much effect, though. The ?Start? button is smaller, and there is a ?Slow? button next to it. This makes it slightly harder to hit the Start button quickly and effectively. The ?Shoulder? buttons, ?L? and ?R,? are smaller on the Naki Controller, and have a better tactile feedback (in other words, you can tell that you pushed them). The Naki N64 Controller also has a turbo feature, and the two buttons to set and clear the turbo feature are located close to the D-pad. This can cause problems. If your thumb rests too far up on the D-pad, it becomes very easy to hit the turbo setting buttons by accident. |
| Performance:The Naki N64 Controller feels nice in the hand, and handles well. Depending on how you hold the controller when you play, you may have problems with accidentally engaging the turbo function. Once you?re aware of it though, this controller is a nice controller to have around. Also, while trying to hit the Start button, it is possible to accidentally hit the Slow button. However, both of these problems can be overcome with a little bit of practice. Once you get used to the location of these buttons, the problems cease. |

Drawbacks & Problems::The Naki N64 Controller has some additional features that weren?t included on the original Nintendo 64 Controller. These features need buttons to set and use them, and these buttons have to be somewhere on the controller. The placement of these additional buttons on the Naki N64 Controller may cause some problems when you first use it, although this can be overcome with a little bit of practice. Otherwise, this controller is a nice controller. Good job, Naki! |
