Function: The Mad Catz High Rez Pack greatly enhances the Nintendo 64 graphics! If you want to brag about your system to a PlayStation owner, just load up a game that supports the High Rez Pack, and don?t tell him about it. Or, better yet, ask him why they didn?t make one for the PlayStation (hehe). The installation of the Mad Catz High Rez Pack is not a simple ?plug and go? process, like a controller. It?s not very hard, but should be done by an adult. The installation requires the careful removal of the Jumper Pack from the top of the N64, and then the insertion of the High Rez Pack in its place. A special tool is provided with the Mad Catz High Rez Pack, and a replacement for the stock Jumper Pack cover is provided as well. Now your N64 can have a hood scoop!
Performance: The Mad Catz High Rez Pack works in the same manner as the official Nintendo High Resolution Pack. It is only for use with certain games, but all games will work with it installed. If a game supports the High Rez feature, it will detect the Mad Catz High Rez Pack, and enable the advanced features in that game. Otherwise, it will operate as normal.
Features: Doubles System Memory REALLY Boosts Graphic Quality and Definition Works with all N64 Games (only enhances some, though) Easy to Determine Compatibility (Games that support it have High Rez pack symbol on their packaging)
Drawbacks & Problems:: The only drawback about the Mad Catz High Rez Pack is that it only improves games that support the High Rez feature. On these games, however, it looks absolutely wonderful! If only it had some effect on ALL N64 games. Oh, well.
