So, you like playing Black Ops II, but haven't been able to play in a while? That would explain why you missed the in-game status message. However, if you find yourself unable to play as often as you'd like, then you might want to make some time to play this weekend, as you'll gain XP at twice the normal rate. January 25th through January 28th (10am PST), Activision has a Double XP promotion running.
You want it, and we have got it and are giving it to you – BAM! Starting Friday, January 25th (10am/PST) and running through Monday, January 28th (10am/PST) jump online to earn Double XP. Mark your calendars: the Revolution DLC Pack drops January 29th to the Xbox Marketplace and the in-game Store. Luckily, you’ve got the Replacer.
If you don't make the most of the Double XP promotion, you might have to resort to more desperate schemes, such as making use of a Replacer to handle your workaday tasks while you kick @ss online. It's a great idea, granted, but... I'm not sure how well that will actually work out for you. At the very least, I'd say it's a case where your mileage may definitely vary.
